The new school year is right around the corner. It's no secret that the cost of school supplies can add up fast. Minnesota helps families afford school supplies by offering tax benefits like the Minnesota K-12 Education Credit/Subtraction. These benefits can increase a tax refund up to $1,000 or lower the amount of tax owed. To claim these educational benefits, parents must remember to save their receipts from education expenses to claim them at tax time. Expenses included notebooks, pencils, musical instruments, textbooks, educational field trips, and more! To learn more, click here.
The Postsecondary Child Care Grant Program helps low income students who have young children pay for child care while the student attends classes.
